This role will provide you with the opportunity to utilise your knowledge and skills to assess development proposals, both on private and on public land, with a particular focus on engineering impacts. This role demands a thorough understanding of engineering and environmental considerations to ensure that developments align with regulatory standards and community expectations.

What You’ll Be Working On
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys and is confident in reviewing plans in detail and providing expert engineering advice.
You will undertake engineering assessment of development application referrals by reviewing submitted documents, providing expert engineering advice and recommending both standard and site specific conditions of consent where necessary.
You will also process, assess and determine Section 138 approvals under the Roads Act 1993 including Driveway applications and applications for Works on Council Land.
You will also have the opportunity to be out on site to work with Council contractors, ensuring that any works carried out by private contractors are made safe and up to the required standard.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
The successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of two years’ relevant experience. You will have demonstrated ability in communicating complex technical concepts clearly and working effectively within a team setting.
You will have experience in preparing technical and assessment reports relating to development proposals as well as assessing driveways and S138 applications.
Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as your high level of organisation, attention to detail, problem solving and time-management skills will contribute to your success in the role.
Additionally, knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Roads Act and Local Government Act will be advantageous.
In addition to the above, you will also hold a current Class C driver licence and a General Construction Induction card.
